Westmalle Tripel is a top fermentation beer, re-fermented in the bottle. It is the most famous beer from the Trappist Abbey of Westmalle. It has a clear, golden color, a soft and creamy texture and a profound, yet soft and mildly bitter flavor. This beer has been brewed since 1934 and it is definitely one of Belgium’s best triple beers. It has an alcohol content of 9.5%.
This beer has won numerous prices. It was elected best beer in the world by the New York Times in 2005, and more recently it won the golden medal in the category “Belgian-Style Tripel” ate the World Beer Cup in 2012.
