Paus has a bright apple Champagne golden color with a creamy and stable white head. Surprisingly hoppy nose, citrus, creamy, almost sweet cornflakes in a good way, fruity yeast. The taste is bitter, floral, hop forward, white pepper, thin yeast, almost saison-yeast, sweetness coupled, sugar, peel with some fruitiness, moderate alcohol. Lightly creamy and well carbonated.

The company was founded in 1907 and taken over in 1922 by the brewer Jan Dresselaers. Latter his son Rene succeeded his father. They brewed quality beers of high fermentation of which “Pater” and “Paus” were the best known.
