The beer was created last year as a result of 800 years of Herentals. Henry the First, Duke of Brabant gave the city in 1209 full city rights, and that is a valid reason to be proud about. For those less aware of large and small Flanders Bierman can add here that Herentals as a medium-sized city in the heart of the Kempen.
