Augustijn Grand Cru is a typical Belgian Tripel Ale by Brewery Van Steeberghe. It has a straw yellow color and a thick, foamy white head. It has a fruity and hoppy aroma and a very full, malty flavor. The aftertaste is slightly bitter. This beer can be kept in the cellar for several years, during which the flavor will evolve to become even fuller and rounder. It has an alcohol content of 9.0%.
Serving temperature: 8-12°C
The tradition of Augustijn beers dates back to 1295, when the Augustinian friars brew their first beer in their Ghent Monastery. Since 1978, the brewing is done by the nearby Brewery Van Steenberghe.
