Augustijn Blond is a blond top fermentation beer with a malty and fruity aroma and some hints of vanilla. This beer, by Brewery Van Steenberghe, has a refined flavor that is nicely in balance between the malty fruitiness and the bitterness of the hops. The aftertaste is slightly bitter. The flavor of this beer evolves over time, in the first few months after bottling, the fruity and hoppy flavors dominate, but as time goes by the flavor becomes fuller and rounder. It has an alcohol content of 7.5%.
Serving temperature: 8-12°C
The Augustinian friars have been brewing beer in their Ghent Monastery since the late 13th Century. In 1978 the friars were looking for new partner to brew their beers for them. They found that partner in Brewery Van Steenberghe, located nearby the monastery. It is this brewery who now continues to brew the Augustijn beers according to the ancient tradition.
