Affligem Double is the dark equivalent of the well-known Affligem Blond beer. Both beers have the same alcohol content and they are being brewed at brewery De Smedt in Opwijk. Originally the brewing took place in the Benedictine Abbey of Affligem (1129-1970) until the demand became too much for the monks, who decided to outsource the brewing to this befriended brewery. All beers are still brewed according to the ancient recipes of the Abbey of Affligem.
