Achel Extra Brown is a top fermentation beer, brewed at the in the Trappist Abbey of Sint-Benedictus in Achel. It is an intense and complex beer, more hoppy than the regular Achel Brown. It has an aroma of roasted grain and juicy malts, it has a tangy fruity taste and a long, bittersweet flavour that evolves into a dry, bitter and fruity aftertaste.
With its alcohol content of 9.5%, this limited edition is stronger than the regular Achel Brown.

The Trappist Abbey of Achel, Belgium’s smallest Trappist brewery, is located in a large forest in the very North of Belgium. Their long brewing tradition was interrupted in the early 20th Century, but it was resumed in 1998, making Achel also the youngest Belgian Trappist beer.
