Seasonal beers, or seasonals, are beers that are typical for one particular period of the year and they are usually only available in that particular period. In this category, you will find all Belgian spring beer, summer beer and autumn beer. The largest category, the winter beers or Christmas beers can be found in a separate collection.
Spring beers are available in March or April and remain available until around June or July. Examples of such beers are Leffe Lentebier, Hopus Primeur and Holsbeek Lentripel. A subcategory of these spring beers, are the Easter beers. These beers are usually only brewed once per year, a few weeks before Easter. The best known Easter beer is Boskeun (Rabbit of the Forest) by De Dolle Brouwers.
Summer beers are very rare. We currently have two such beers available: Caroussel by Brewery De Vlier and Chouffe Soleil by Brasserie d’Achouffe. Both are blonde, very refreshing beers, low in alcohol content. Beers that are really brewed to be drunk on a hot summer day.
